We Will Do This Together

Published on      There are times in all of our lives that we need to know that we are not alone in our circumstances and struggles, yes we all have a story and we all have struggles at times - that is the human condition.

The picture with this blog has a very special meaning to me, it is a photo that I took myself in Erieau , Ontario. The words on it are an actual quote from my therapist. I was recovering from and dealing with the emotional aftermath of being diagnosed and treated for Triple Negative Breast Cancer. I was afraid and I felt alone and he very compassionately said to me "I am going to help you with this. We will do it together." Those words resonated so loudly in my heart and soul that I created this photo for him as a gift to say thank you.

This week he re-gifted that photo to me. He explained that I needed to possess those words and make them my own. I have come full circle and this phrase has been engraved in my heart and it is now my mantra and my promise to those who reach out to me or who I reach out to to encourage, advocate for, or educate about the issues that I care deeply about.

As a writer, journalist, photographer, cancer survivor it is my desire, my passion, to reach out and advocate. I am a true believer that my experiences (the good, the bad, and the ugly) can be a stepping stone to recovery and encouragement for others.

It is so important to know that you are not alone in life and if I can use my experiences to help others then my experiences are not wasted.

So, if you have come to this site to look into my advocacy projects know that you are not alone. If you have come to see my published portfolio enjoy. Either way I want to connect and learn together.
